Our Policies

Here you’ll find all our key policies, designed to ensure transparency, safety, and high standards across our schools. In our policies the term ‘staff’ refers to all staff on site including ancillary, agency and supply staff, students on placement, contractors who work with children, Governors, Trustees and volunteers working with children.

Whistleblowing Policy

This is the policy for just the staff of North Star Community Trust ONLY.

Parental concerns

We do our best to resolve any concerns that may arise promptly, informally, and with genuine care, as we believe early, open communication is the most effective way to support our families and maintain a strong partnership between home and school. Our aim is always to ensure that parents and carers feel heard, respected, and confident that any issues will be handled with sensitivity and professionalism.

Often, a simple conversation with your child’s class teacher can quickly clear up any questions, misunderstandings, or worries you may have. Class teachers are usually best placed to provide immediate insight and reassurance, and we warmly encourage you to speak with them as your first point of contact. In many cases, this initial step alone brings swift and lasting reassurance, helping to prevent small concerns from becoming larger issues.

However, we also understand that sometimes further support is needed. If this is the case, our senior staff members — including year group leaders and senior leadership — are always available to listen carefully and work with you to find a constructive way forward. They are approachable, understanding, and committed to supporting both children and their families.

In the very rare event that a concern remains unresolved after these steps, the Academy has a clear and robust Complaints Procedure in place to ensure that all issues are addressed fairly, respectfully, and thoroughly. This formal process exists to provide additional reassurance that every voice is valued, and that any serious concern will be fully investigated and responded to with care and integrity.
