Get insights into the curriculum we offer, discover the topics and skills you’ll learn with us and find out why this is a great subject to study with us

Biology is the comprehensive study of life and living organisms, spanning numerous domains such as genetics, microbiology, taxonomy, biochemistry, physiology, ethology, and ecology. This diverse field offers insights into complex biological systems from the molecular to the ecosystem level. A level Biology provides a foundational understanding of bodily functions, genetic expression and its metabolic effects, cellular communication, molecular interactions, and the industrial and ecological applications of microorganisms.
The A level Biology course is structured as a two-year program, consisting of eight modules and a practical endorsement. This endorsement is a crucial component, assessing students’ competence and skills in executing core practical experiments, integral for grasping the theoretical concepts taught in class. Through this course, students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop practical scientific skills, preparing them for further education in biological sciences or related fields. This robust curriculum is designed to foster a deeper appreciation of the natural world and equip students with the analytical skills necessary for careers in healthcare, research, environmental conservation, and more.
